Welcome to The Red Tulip Film Festival

Welcome to The Red Tulip Film Festival

“About the Red Tulip Film Festival” (RTFF) The Red Tulip Film Festival (RTFF) has been organized annually since 2013 in various cities in the Netherlands. The festival brings previously unscreened Turkish films and films from the Eurasia region (Balkan countries and Central Asia such as Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan and Iran) to the Netherlands.

The diverse film offerings of the festival show the audience the versatility of the films from this region; from inspiring arthouse feature films, documentaries, short films to children’s films, something for everyone.

Every year we also introduce the film festival outside the Randstad because we believe that world cinema can be used as a connecting element to promote cultural diversity and the diversity in the art and culture offer in the city.

In cities with inhabitants from different backgrounds, we think it is important that people come into contact with art and culture from different population groups and that this way they also meet, hear and see each other. The city’s film houses and festival stages are very suitable places for this. These encounters can lead to inspiration, mutual understanding and respect.

The film offerings of the festival and the local cooperation we enter into with various organizations and networks in the city make it possible for the film houses/cinemas to also target an audience that does not always and easily find its way to art and culture.
